About WAJIBU

WAJIBU - Institute of Public Accountability is a reputable think-tank institution which was established in 2015 with the purpose of fostering an environment that supports public financial accountability (PFA) and good governance in Tanzania.

It mobilises public engagement with duty bearers and the elected representatives (Members of Parliament, Councilors and Street/Village Chairpersons) on issues of public financial accountability and good governance.

Vision: Public resources are effectively managed to benefit all citizens for poverty reduction.

Mission: To foster an environment that promotes transparency and public financial accountability through policy advocacy and research, capacity building, and citizen engagement, particularly among youth, women, and people with disability.

Strategic Objectives (2021-2025)

WAJIBU's Strategic Plan focuses on four broad objectives guided by a comprehensive Theory of Change:

• Objective 2: Enhancing capacity of elected representatives and duty bearers in effective oversight and accountability
